A Message from President

The Florida State D19 and House D32 Primary Elections are now over. The enthusiasm shown by the candidates and Republican Clubs was heartening, and we can all feel confident that Republicans in Brevard will be comfortably elected in the general election.

Pursuant the Federation Endorsement Policy I, as the President of BFRW, am prohibited from openly endorsing candidates for public office in any primary, runoff, special election, or non-partisan election where two or more Republicans are competing.  That prohibition gave me the opportunity to consider the election from a different angle.

I realized that while no one is perfect, the candidates are all good people who truly want to improve their communities, the state and our nation.

I realized that promoting Republican values is BFRW’s purpose - telling Republican’s how to vote for is not – and that as leaders of Republican women it is our responsibility rise above the fray and promote application of Republican values to our daily lives.

I also realized that we must assure that our Primary system encourages, and does not discourage, as many Republicans as possible to run for public office.  A large candidate pool in the Primaries ensures that all sides are heard and increases voter turnout by encouraging people to voice their opinion through their vote.   A large candidate pool in the Primaries also ensures that Republicans are running the best candidate in the general election.

In accordance with Florida Federation of Republican Women’s guidance, BFRW reaffirms its dedication to the Florida Legislature, the Executive Branch, and Brevard voters.  BFRW stands ready to come together with all Republican women to engage and succeed via political education and initiatives that uphold our common ideals.  BFRW urges all Republicans to work together to accomplish the mandate given President Donald J. Trump last November and Make America Great Again!

May God Bless America.

Legislative Committee: HB1205 Update

Let's stay informed and engaged. Florida's future is shaped by the laws we help create-together.

House Bill HB1205: Initiative Petitions for Constitutional Amendments.

Florida House passed the bill HB1205 on Thursday, April 3, 2025
This bill focuses on tightening the rules around citizen-led constitutional amendments to make sure the process is transparent, secure, and truly reflects the will of Florida residents.

What HB1205 Does?
  • Requires petition circulators to be FLorida residents
  • Requires a $1 million bond from petition sponsors after 25% of signatures are gathered
  • Reduces the time to submit signed petitions from 30 days to 10
  • Introduces tougher penalties for violations, including fraud or use of out-of-state circulators.

Supporters of HB 1205 say it's a commonsense measure hat helps prevent outside influence and ensures accountability in the amendment process. Critics say is may create more barriers for citizens. But the goal is clear: to protect the integrity of Floris's Constitution and keep decision making in the hands of Floridians.
Florida Federated Republican Women Passed its Resolution: SUPPORTING LEGISLATION TO INCREASE THE THRESHOLD FOR CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

Florida Federation of Republican Women stands firmly in support of Legislation that would raise the threshold from Sixty Percent (60%) to 2/3 majority vote to pass Amendments to the Florida Constitution.
