People frequently asked me why I put in so much effort into my volunteer work. Before I list all the reasons, I want to share a passage from Catriona McDonald, a 2025 BFRW Scholarship recipient’s application:
In her Scholarship Application, Catriona wrote “…… After Cocoa High’s JROTC program was invited to the Brevard Federated Republican Women Military Dinner, I was honestly so inspired by all the women around me. I have always loved being a leader, as I am second in command of our Tiger Battalion, and being in a room full of women who are not only leaders themselves, but empowering others to be leaders and being so supportive of one another was so inspiring. As I am now the youngest member to join, I am so excited for this wonderful opportunity to be a part of something so great…..”.
“……This scholarship is important to me, because paying for college is not going to be easy, and with all the schooling I am wishing to pursue, any little bit will help me get to where I want to be……”
How could one not be motivated to do more? One of the most significant roles most of us will ever play is empowering and mentoring the leaders of the next generation. And that’s what we do!
